How to Find Clarity and Purpose by Slowing Down Your Faith Journey
Slow and steady wins the race.
What is the race?
What counts as a win?
The race, according to who? A win, according to what standard?
Embracing Slow Living as a Christian
I’ve noticed that my greatest wins, according to me, have come with embracing slow living as a Christian—a pace that honors both faith and clarity.
This reminds me that accepting life’s seasons rather than fighting them often brings the most meaningful growth.
When I slow my pace, especially my thoughts, clarity comes much quicker than when my mind races. Learning to be more mindful and aware has transformed how I experience each moment.
One idea. One task. One conversation. One deep breath of sweet release.
Steady is sometimes one leap, one foot, one toe at a time. Move with one purpose, on purpose.
Ask, what is the purpose of your decision? What is the purpose of your delay?
Life’s race doesn’t need to be a Nascar or rat race. To complete rather than compete.
Maybe your goal is to finish one thing with excellence. Maybe your mission is to consolidate and update something that no longer adds value to your life. Sometimes the best strategy is overcoming problems with gratitude rather than speed.
I want less of the world’s jewels and stars. Like practicing self-control in a distracted world, I’m learning to choose God’s gold over worldly trophies. Those rewards may include peace, clarity, wisdom and uplift.
Slow living as a Christian means finishing the race with purpose, whatever the pace. It’s choosing God’s rhythm over the world’s rush.
