Living in the Present Moment: Then, When, and While

That was then. This is now.

What will be, will be.

It is what it is.

Repeated quotes from the past.

The Challenge of Living in the Present Moment

Wisdom for the future.

I frequently hear, ‘Embrace the moment,’ ‘Be present,’ ‘Live with awareness.’ How often do I truly experience living in the present moment in real time? Our brains are capable of enormous potential, but I don’t believe God designed us to be hyper-productive 24-7.

I’ve noticed how frequently my thoughts revert to the past or entertain future activities and potential conversations. A collection of positive and painful memories surfaces. I spend much time visualizing creative ideas and potential endeavors coming to fruition, rarely practicing present moment awareness.

I can use “then” to learn for the past for the “when.” I need to be present in the “while.” Who or what from my past can prepare me for the future? What am I to do, or not do, to use past experiences so I can be aware of the present and strong for the future?

The Power of Replacing “When” With “While”

How would my day be different if I focused on living in the present moment—if I replaced then and when (or if) with while? While this happens. While he talks. While she waits.

Present Moment Awareness: Learning to Live “While”

That was then.

That will be.

I’m to live while.

While I learn.

While I wait.

While I embrace and appreciate.

Friend, thank you for being present then, when, and while.

Casara sara. What will be, will be,

Christina

Enjoy prosperity while you can, but when hard times strike, realize that both come from God. Remember that nothing is certain in this life (Eccl. 7:14).
